This project was formerly launched on 23rd October 2007 and is currently archiving the history of the Shrublands Youth & Adult Centre in Magdalen Way, Gorleston. The project will also expand further into the Magdalen and Shrublands estates where a host of history will also be recorded onto this website. The archive is for local, past and present residents who have an interest in the local history of the area.
Shrublands Community Archive Project is administered by East Anglian Complementary Health (EACH).

Weekly workshops are held most Friday mornings, 10 am at the Shrublands Centre in the new Training Room. Everyone is welcome to attend and help towards building the archive, but please phone first to check the next date and time.

When you click on a small image (thumbnail) it will enlarge it. Text or audio associated with the record can be viewed by using the buttons to the right of the photograph. The yellow dots are Hot Spots - If you hover the mouse over a Hot Spot it will show either the name of the person, the building name or item name. If there is a blue inner dot this means that there is more than one record of this. Click on the dot to take you to the next picture.
